Oli Valur Steindorsson

CEO & Chairman

A native of Icelandic fishing village Akranes, Mr. Steindorsson moved to Tokyo at the age of 19 to pursue a career in the global seafood industry.

Through his extensive experience in Japan, he has mastered the country’s language and culture and established a wide network of customers and contacts in the seafood trade worldwide. Mr. Steindorsson is married with 4 children.

Mike Gault

Director

Mike Gault brings to Umami Seafood over 20 years of diverse experience, including stints in the military, academia, engineering and financial derivatives.
Mr. Gault is the CEO of GuardTime, a security software company based in Tallinn, Estonia.  Prior to joining GuardTime, he was a Managing Director at Barclays Capital in Tokyo.

James D.A. White

Director

Native of Canada, Mr. White brings over 25 years of business experience including various field, management and financing roles in the mining industry; professional services, and operational / administrative oversight to distressed businesses.

Douglas M. Dunn

Ph.D., Director

Douglas M. Dunn has had an extensive career in research, business and academic leadership.

His corporate experienced culminated in senior positions at AT&T as a corporate officer leading Federal Regulatory Matters, Regional Government Affairs, and Visual Communications and Multimedia Strategy.
He also served as dean of Carnegie Mellon University’s Graduate School of Industrial Administration [GSIA, now the Tepper School of Business] from July 1996 through June 2002.

Yukuo Takenaka

Director

Mr. Yukuo Takenaka is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Takenaka Partners LLC, a global investment banking and advisory group, which specializes in executing cross-border transactions.

Mr. Takenaka has bridged the cultural gap between businesses in the United States and Japan for more than three decades. On both sides of the Pacific, he has advised companies in various industries, including high technology, electronics, manufacturing, financial services and real estate.
